Navigator/Adventurer Events

Campouts / Hiking / Adventure

As the boys advance into the middle school and high school programs, we try to have an outing every month during the school year.  Spring and fall outings are Friday night campouts at locales typically within an hour of Overland Park.  Winter excursions include our New Year’s hike and a cabin outing in February at a venue within the region.  We also include historical excursions, sporting events, concerts, hikes, canoeing/kayaking, and other such activities. Most of these outings include an adult male from the Trailman’s family, though this is not required.

Summer Adventure

Summer Adventure is a several days to weeklong excursion to exciting locations in the Midwest.  These trips are a way to put our Trailman skills to use and to enjoy God’s great creation.  Because of the length of this trip, an adult male is typically required to attend with each Trailman.  Past Summer Adventure destinations have been Mt Elbert (Colorado), Buffalo River (Arkansas), Johnson’s Shut-Ins (Missouri), Lake Superior North Shore (Minnesota), and Devil’s Lake State Park (Wisconsin).

Court of Honor Awards Ceremony

One of the most impactful nights of the program year is the celebration of the milestones achieved during the past year.  Troop leaders will acknowledge the dedication of each participant along with the awards they have earned.
