Troopmaster Bio

Troopmaster - Darric Wright

It has been my privilege to be part of Trail Life USA and Troop KS-1199 since 2019, when I first joined as a Fox-level parent with my son. As he advanced to the Hawk level, I stepped into a Trail Guide role—helping lead weekly meetings and creating memorable, hands-on adventures for the boys. In 2021, I was honored to become Troopmaster, guiding our growing troop as we helped sponsor a new Trail Life troop in Olathe.

My family—Jennifer, Savannah, and Sawyer—live in south Olathe. Jennifer and I celebrated 20 years of marriage in 2024, and our children attend Heritage Christian Academy. We are active at LifeMission Church, where I serve several weekends each month on the Audio/Visual Team, running camera or graphics during worship services, or on the Prayer Team, praying with and encouraging those in need.

My faith journey began in earnest during my senior year of high school, when I made the decision to surrender my life to Christ. That step changed the direction of my life—leading me to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University for business and accounting.  I currently serve as Controller with one of the fastest growing franchise systems in the United States, City Wide Facility Solutions. I’m thankful God allowed me to experience scouting as a boy, where I first discovered a love for leadership, teamwork, and the outdoors.

I count it a blessing to watch boys grow into Godly young men through Trail Life. Whether sitting around a campfire, planning a campout, hiking a new trail, or supporting our North Plains Region as Communications Chair, I’m continually reminded of how God uses outdoor adventure to build faith, friendship, and character that lasts a lifetime!
