Troopmaster Bio

Troopmaster - Darric Wright

It has been my privilege to be a part of Trail Life USA and Troop KS-1199 since 2019 when I joined as a Fox parent with my son. As my son moved up to 2nd grade, I became a Trail Guide for the Hawk level helping lead weekly meetings and creating memorable experiences. I became Troopmaster in the spring of 2021 as our Troop helped sponsor a new Olathe troop.

My family, Jennifer, Savannah and Sawyer live in south Olathe. My wife and I celebrated 20 years of marriage in 2024!  My kids attend Heritage Christian Academy and we attend LifeMission Church in Olathe.  You can find me serving several weekends per month on the Audio Visual team running a camera or graphics for worship services.

My faith journey began in earnest as I ended my senior year of high school. When I made that critical decision to surrender my life to Christ, it altered where I went to school (chose Mid-America Nazarene over a public university) and my career (chose accounting instead of law). I am grateful that God blessed me with an opportunity to participate in scouts for several years when I was in elementary/junior high, teaching me valuable lessons about leadership and the outdoors.

I thoroughly enjoy watching boys become Godly men. Sitting around a campfire, helping out with TLUSA Regional communications for the North Plains, setting up great campouts, fishing and hiking all create memorable experiences for me and help keep me young at heart!
